This provided the funding for the site grading, sand/rock for the rink foundation, ice rink, barrier system, 120 pairs of skates with racks, two skate sharpening machines, multiple skating assistance “buddies”, rubber flooring, outdoor carpeting, fencing, benches, shed, poles and lighting, and point-of-sale hardware. The Chicken Ranch Tribe of Me-Wuk Indians historically flourished as a relatively moderate sized community of Me-Wuk Natives in the Sierra Nevada foothills. Our original hunting and gathering territories stretched from the Table Mountain area of New Melones to the rolling hills of the lower Red Hills area.
